2TR Bellhousing Kit / RZ to R-series Bellhousing Conversion Kit
When we released the original “2RZ / 3RZ to R-series Transmission Bellhousing” (original announcement thread, Nov 2006), development had begun prior to 2005 and we sold 100 units. It was during this first production run that we discovered the new 2.7-liter, the 2TR-FE from the 2nd gen Tacoma (same bore & stroke as the 3RZ-FE), comes equipped from the factory with a R-series transmission (R155F). As a result production of our custom bellhousing was halted. We quickly got a hold of our first R155F and discovered the 2TR uses the same bellhousing bolt pattern, starter placement, and slave cylinder position as the 2RZ/3RZ engine block! With development in other areas, such as our updated TacoBox Tacoma Crawlers and new line of bolt pattern adapter plates, it would be a while before we returned to the world of 3RZ conversions.
The 2RZ/3RZ to R-series Bellhousing Conversion is back!
We are once again offering a Bellhousing to mount a R-series (3.83:1 R150 or 4.31:1 R151) behind a 2RZ-FE or 3RZ-FE engine, this time using all new 100% Toyota parts! By placing this bellhousing behind your RZ engine block, you’ll be able to use the strongest 5-speed Pickup/4Runner transmission while at the same time upgrading your transfer case to the larger diameter and stronger 23-spline design.
Kit includes the following:
1 x New Toyota 2TR-FE Bellhousing made in Japan
Compatible with 2.4-liter 2RZ-FE, 2.7-liter 3RZ-FE, 2.7-liter 2TR-FE engines
Compatible with R-series 2WD and (early style 1986-1995) 4WD transmissions
Blue or Purple paint is factory Toyota paint used for inspection and quality control. We do not remove this Toyota paint.
